Overview
Dropzones configured with a large number of recipients can experience slower package processing when an end user uploads files. This is because recipient access is normally assigned to every configured recipient as part of the upload process. High Volume mode improves upload performance by delaying recipient assignment until access is actually needed. Instead of adding all recipients when a package is finalized, High Volume mode grants access only when a recipient attempts to open the package, such as when they:
- Click a secure package link
- Open the package from a supported agent application (such as Zendesk, Salesforce, or Intercom)
This significantly reduces processing time for Dropzones with large recipient lists.
Prerequisites
High Volume mode requires that recipients access packages using a secure package link. This mode is only available for Dropzones that deliver secure links through one of the following methods:
- A webhook integration that posts the secure link into a supported platform such as Zendesk, Salesforce, or Intercom
- A SendSafely Dropzone Widget integration
- Email notifications that include the secure package link
When High Volume mode is enabled:
- Packages are not available from the SendSafely History page.
- Packages cannot be accessed using a trusted browser.
- Access must always occur through the secure package link.
Identifying High Volume Dropzones
You can determine whether a Dropzone is running in High Volume mode in either of the following locations:
- The Dropzone Profile, which displays the message: "This Dropzone is running in High Volume mode."
- The Admin Report: Dropzone Listing, which identifies all Dropzones configured to use High Volume mode.
Enabling High Volume Mode
High Volume mode is enabled by the SendSafely Support team. If you would like a Dropzone converted to High Volume mode, have a SendSafely administrator submit a request to support@sendsafely.com.
