Zendesk has announced the removal of Help Center Templating APIs v1, v2, and v3. All Zendesk Help Center themes must be upgraded to Templating API v4 by July 31, 2027.
If you are migrating to Templating API v4 and your Zendesk Help Center uses the SendSafely Portal Widget, you should confirm that you are using SendSafely Zendesk Widget v2 as part of your migration plan.
SendSafely Widget Compatibility
The current SendSafely Zendesk Widget (SendSafelyZendesk.v2.min.js) is compatible with Zendesk Help Center Templating APIs v3 and v4.
The legacy SendSafely widget (SendSafelyZendesk.min.js) is compatible with Templating APIs v1, v2, and v3, but is not compatible with Templating API v4.
If you are currently using the legacy SendSafely widget, you will need to upgrade to Widget v2 when migrating your Zendesk Help Center theme to Templating API v4.
Upgrading to Widget v2
Follow the instructions in Installing the Portal Widget for Zendesk to configure Widget v2 for your Help Center.
Widget v2 does not rely on jQuery and uses a different JavaScript reference and initialization method than the legacy widget, so be sure to follow the current installation instructions rather than carrying over the legacy widget configuration.
