Overview
Multi-Portal Administration (MPA) provides a centralized dashboard for administrators who manage multiple SendSafely portals. Instead of maintaining separate administrator logins for each portal, MPA provides a single account for accessing and administering all of the SendSafely portals assigned to you.
Common examples of MPA use include:
- Organizations with separate portals for different subsidiaries or business units
- Organizations operating portals in multiple SendSafely hosting regions
- Organizations with separate production and sandbox portals
- SendSafely partners or resellers administering portals on behalf of multiple customers
In additional to managing portal logins, MPA also provides direct access to billing information through Stripe and account usage metrics through Vitally.
MPA is configured by the SendSafely Support team. To request access or add portals to an existing MPA account, contact support@sendsafely.com.
Using the MPA
1. The MPA unified dashboard
After logging in to MPA, you will see a list of the SendSafely portals associated with your account.
For each portal, MPA provides three options:
- Billing – Opens billing and subscription information for the selected portal in Stripe.
- Metrics – Opens usage and account metrics for the selected portal in Vitally.
- Portal – Logs you directly into the selected SendSafely portal with Administrator access.
2. Accessing your SendSafely Portals
When you access a SendSafely portal through MPA, SendSafely creates temporary Administrator access for your MPA account. This temporary access allows MPA administrators to perform administrative tasks without maintaining a permanent Administrator account in each portal.
When you access a portal via the MPA, you are taken directly to the Enterprise Console, which is the administrative view. From the Enterprise Console, you can perform the same standard administrative functions available to a SendSafely Administrator, including managing users, reviewing activity, generating reports, and configuring portal settings.
You can return to MPA at any time to access another portal associated with your account. You do not need a separate SendSafely username and password for each portal.
3. Audit Logging
Every action performed within a SendSafely portal while authenticated through MPA is automatically recorded in that portal's SendSafely Audit Log.The Audit Log captures metadata about activity within a SendSafely portal, including administrative actions performed by MPA users.
This allows organizations to identify and review administrative activity performed through MPA alongside other portal activity.
Configuring your MPA
MPA is configured by the SendSafely Support team. To request access or add portals to an existing MPA account, contact support@sendsafely.com. Support will request the following information
- SendSafely Portals - The list of portals to be linked via the MPA. SendSafely will perform validation on all portal requests.
- Administrator email addresses The email addresses of each administrator permitted to access the MPA.
- Allowed IP addresses - REQUIRED. The IP addresses authorized to connect to the MPA. These can be individual addresses or a range specified using CIDR notation. Providing allowed IP addresses is a requirement for MPA use.
- Login Method. The MPA supports both UN+PWD+TOTP as well as Single Sign-On (SSO). See below for information on configuring SSO.
Note that if a portal is using the feature IP Restrictions to limit access to a defined set of IP addresses, the IP Address for the MPA must be added to the allow list. Contact support@sendsafely.com for the MPA IP range.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
MPA supports SAML Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing organizations to authenticate MPA administrators using their existing identity provider instead of maintaining a separate MPA password.
SSO configuration for MPA is completed with assistance from the SendSafely Support team.
For setup instructions, see Setting up SAML SSO for Multi-Portal Administration.
